Drum Kit Hire London - The Camden Assembly

The Venue.

Set in the vibrant streets of Camden Town, the Camden Assembly is certainly one of London’s most iconic music venues. Formally known as The Barfly this venue hosts live music, club nights, parties, and excellent food and drink.

Located upstairs the music venue is small and intimate - perfect for getting up close with your favorite artists.

Jubilee Club Night.

We had been asked to supply a kit for the Jubilee Club Night organised by Camden Rocks Festival which included sets from Mercutio, Albion, Faers, and a special guest DJ set featuring Frank Turner.

The first band was due at 10 pm with a finish time of 3 am - too late for me now! and soundcheck was scheduled for 9 pm.

I had been liaising with a member of Faers regarding timings and the equipment needed for the event. Having supplied a few options to him, he decided on our Pearl Export Series drum kit for the evening - a great choice!

The bands were going to bring their own cymbals so there was no need for me to get the polish out on this occasion - cymbal packs are an optional extra should you need them.

We were all set!

London, here we come.

Having prepped the drum kit and making sure I had all the relevant hardware for the specific kit, I hit the road!

Thankfully I had access to the venue from 6 pm - so I had plenty of time to get there and battle the usual Friday evening traffic. I always expect to get held up for a trip into London so always allow a bit of extra time for this, but on this occasion, my journey was about as good as it gets!

I rocked up outside at 5:50 pm - perfect!

The staff is always helpful here and within a minute had opened the unloading doors for me. So often I have to unload and set up under pressure due to time restrictions of the event so it was lovely to be able to take my time on this occasion.

Once I had set the drum kit up, I reported back to the staff and was back on route home for the night.

The morning after the night before.

It had been arranged that I would collect the drum kit at 1 pm on Saturday, however, after speaking with a member of staff the previous day it turned out that I could get in from noon, when the first member of staff arrived, which was an added bonus!

Again, my journey into London was a breeze. I love watching people milling around the city at the weekend as there is such a chilled vibe around the place with coffee drinkers, joggers, and dog walkers seem to be the popular choices and Regents Park certainly seemed the place to be judging by the number of people around the place!

I arrived at the Camden Assembly shortly after noon and proceeded upstairs. You can always tell when it’s been a good night by the sticky floor from spilled drinks and this seemed to be no exception… ah, I remember those days!

The bands had left the kit perfectly, I did a quick check to make sure the equipment was ok and got it cased up. Three trips to the car and I was loaded up and back on the road where I was off to enjoy a late lunch date with my wife and daughter - happy days!
