The Londoner Hotel.

Drum kit hire for a Bat Mitzvah.

Over the years we have provided drum kits to many different events but this was to be our first Bat Mitzvah…

We were contacted by Whitepaper event, an awesome company that puts on spectacular events globally. They really know how to achieve the visions of their clients with lavish, colorful, and opulent showcases, their attention to detail is incredible!.

The venue for the Bat Mitzvah was to be the newly built Londoner hotel in Leicester Square.

I had heard that this hotel was being built, after all, it’s a bit difficult to miss a gaping hole in the buildings around Leicester Square - I was excited to have an excuse to go and see it!

London venues can be tricky due to parking but I didn’t need to worry as the hotel had a large unloading bay for me to use and the best bit was a lift that went straight up to the ballroom - where the Bat Mitzvah was taking place.

The Ballroom.

Wow! This venue is incredible!

It is a huge space with modern mood lighting reflecting off the chain mail curtains that were draped down from the ceiling - the best bit was that they can program any colour that they want through this backdrop to set the scene to just about anything.

There was a lighting rig being set up and a three-tied stage had been erected with the top-level ready for a DJ. The drum kit - our purple pearl export, was to be set up on the second level - that will work my quads!

There were riggers, florists, and lighting experts all buzzing around the room wanting to keep to the time slots they had been allocated for setup.

Drum kit requirements.

We were told that the girl whose Bat Mitzvah it was, was actually the person who was performing on the drum kit that evening.

As she was a younger drummer Talya from Whitepaper asked us if we had a slightly smaller drum kit that we could supply.

Our Pearl Export was perfect for the gig! being a fusion-size drum kit the drums are slightly smaller than a rock configuration.

The bass drum is a 20” as opposed to a standard 22” making the kit a touch lower, with the rack toms being 10”, 12” and the floor tom being 14”.

The finish is a purple nebula - think of a shimmering hazy purple - yes, it looks fabulous under the stage lights!

I got the kit assembled and left all the other trades to do their thing. I was due to collect the drums at 11 pm when the event was due to finish.

Collection.

I arrived back at the hotel just shy of 11 pm and made my way up to the ballroom ready to pack the drum kit up.

The decor that Whitepaper Event had created was simply stunning - They had even got a couple of mini cars into the ballroom and it was clear that everyone there had enjoyed the celebration.
