Drum Kit Hire In Wiltshire
A Charity Fund Raiser.
I had received a call from a representative from Helen And Douglas House - a cancer charity that help terminally ill babies, children, and young people to live their short lives to the full.
The lady I spoke to was phoning on behalf of a girl called Abby who was organising an event for one of her friends Olivia who had sadly passed away from a brain tumor. All of the proceeds were going to support Olivia’s family who had suffered not only the death of Olivia but also Olivia’s Dad from lung cancer.
Abby was organising an afternoon event at Supermarines FC in Swindon and needed a drum kit for the bands playing throughout the afternoon.
The Event - Gig 4 Liv.
As soon as I received the call, I just had to be a part of this event and to provide my services so Abby didn’t have to worry about the drum kit situation anymore!
Gig 4 Liv was being held at a local sports club - Supermarines FC in Swindon, somewhere that I’m not terribly familiar with if I’m being honest but after a bit of research and a bit of route planning it all seemed very straightforward.
Abby was planning a fun afternoon of music, stalls, entertainment, and food for the event which sounded great!
On my arrival, I was greeted by an impressive amount of organisation! The stage was up and the stalls were in and Abby had an army of helpers decorating the clubhouse and the outside area. But what I was most impressed about was the merchandise that she had created for the day - including T-shirts, wristbands, cups. For someone of her age to organise all this was outstanding!
Our Yamaha Stage Custom Took The Stage.
Access to the stage was as good as it gets, wide-open spaces and just a few steps up made setting up of our Yamaha Stage Custom easy. The stage was a blow-up one which I thought was so cool!
Set-up didn’t take long at all and so I took the time to do some networking with the stage crew from All The Kit who were providing the stage, lighting, and sound system.
Being only a 45-minute drive away, I decided to return home for the afternoon before heading back for a late collection at 11 pm. On my return, it was evident that Gig 4 Liv had been a great success! The DJ was still pumping the music out and there were still lots of people dancing and having a great time!
I had access to the stage to pack the drum kit up…. whilst I had a little jig it must be noted! and got the kit and hardware into their cases before saying goodbye to Abby and congratulating her for the day. Abby commented on just how good the kit we supplied sounded and said I had been penciled in for possible future events, great to hear, but the day most definitely belonged to Olivia, her family, and Abby.
